Computing

This term we have been learning more about algorithms.

We have made algorithms using our laptops, looking at how the instructions we give allow the object to move across the map. We have also looked at what to do if we make a mistake and how we can ensure we provide the computer programme with the correct instructions.

Over the last few weeks, we have completed a range of levels and by the end we were able to correctly deliver the post to the right houses.

Art

This term we are learning about Abstract Art.

Last week we looked at the artist Kadinsky. The children looked at his circle painting whilst re-capping primary and secondary colours and mixing colours.

They then had to paint the circles, using different colours, shades and tints, ensuring they kept within the lines.

Phonics Screening

Last week we ran a parent meeting about the Phonics Screening that Year One pupils will do in June this year.

Please find attached the Powerpoint.

Children should have also received a pack if you weren’t able to attend the meeting.

If you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to contact your class teacher or Miss Common!

Star of the Week

Well done to Jack for being the star of the week. This was awarded for always coming into school with a smile, for being a great role model to his peers and always trying his best. Great work Jack.

Boogie Bounce

Last week, years 4, 5 and 6 all got the opportunity to have a taster in boogie bounce. It looked like everyone had lots of fun, even the teachers who decided to take part as well! We were very lucky to have them come into our school and teach us different moves.

Sports hall Athletics

Last term Year 4 and 5 took part in a sports hall Athletics competition at the Marsh Academy. Both year groups did fantastically well and a team from each year group won their heats. They all showed great sportsmanship and tried their best in every event! Well done to everyone who took part.
