Welcome to Term 2!
Welcome to Term 2! We hope you’ve had a lovely half term break.
Here is an overview of what we will be learning this term and our KIRFs.
If you have any questions, please speak to one of the Year 3 team.
Harvest
We made harvest pumpkins.
How is Being a Christian Like a Harvest Pumpkin?
Just like a farmer, God picks you from the patch and brings you in to his house and kingdom.
He washes all of the dirt off of you.
He opens you up and scoops out all of the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed.
He plants only good seeds.
He gives you a unique smiling face.
He puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.
We give thanks to God at harvest time.
Roman Day!
We have really enjoyed learning about the Romans this term. As a ‘fab finish’ to the topic, we dressed up as Romans and carried out several activities.
We designed and made Roman shields. We learned that the Romans only used a few basic colours and symmetrical patterns.
We also learned about how the Romans used mosaics. We designed and created patterns of our own.
We finished the day with battle formations such as the tortoise, and lots of marching.

Arts Week
Year 3 have been using wax resist to create images based on the themes of architecture and community. We started by sketching houses. We then experimented how wax is resistant to watered down ink and watercolour paint. The children used both wax crayons and candle wax to explore different approaches. We look forward to sharing the final results!
