Star of the Week
Star of the Week was awarded to Ronnie for some fantastic writing this week.
Value Award: Perseverance
Our perseverance award went to Leila for trying really hard in her maths learning this week.
St. Barnabas Award:
Jake was awarded the Barnabas certificate for encouraging others with their sport.
Archie was awarded this certificate for his continued efforts with his reading.
Joshua won the reading raffle for this term.

KIC Drama Workshop
Today, we had the wonderful Ian from KIC working with our Year 6s; they were immersed into World War 2 and were taken back to this time. All the children were brilliant and embraced the activities that they were asked to do.
The session had a number of parts: Summer 1939, War has broken, Going to War and Saying Goodbye, The Homefront and Evacuated. The children were then able to write with feeling and emotion when we got back to the classroom.

Star of the Week was awarded to Mason for his Charleston dance.
Value Award: Perseverance
Thomas was awarded the perseverance certificate for doubling his reading test scores.
Harry D was awarded the perseverance award for his great efforts in his maths this week and really trying hard with his independence.
St. Barnabas Award:
Taylor received our encourager award this week. He came into school so cheery on Monday, then won the tea party place and has just encouraged others to be cheery all week – please keep going Taylor!
Leon was awarded the ‘Reader of the Week’ certificate for working hard at his reading.
Well done to Honor for achieving the reading award this week – fantastic efforts with your reading!
Elm class won the TTRS trophy and had the highest Reading Plus percentage this week.

PE in Year 6
This term in Oak and Elm, we have been honing our netball skills. Practicing our passing skills, defending and attacking skills and learning some of the positions by playing short games.
We have also been learning the Charleston in Dance. Initially, the children found it quite difficult but the progress they made in just 2 lessons was incredible.

Star of the Week was awarded to Spencer for working hard in all subject areas, even staying in at lunchtime voluntarily.
Value Award: Perseverance
Leila was awarded the perseverance award for trying really hard with her work and her learning behaviours.
St. Barnabas Award:
The encourager certificate is awarded to Mercy for always encouraging her peers to make the right choices.
Keira is the ‘Reader of the Week’. She not only reads a lot throughout the week but also encourages the whole class to read too!

Star of the Week was awarded to Stevie for his excellent and eloquent answers and the word definitions he provides, which really help the other children.
Value Award: Perseverance
Mrs Lee awarded the certificate to the whole of Elm class for their efforts during remote learning. The key worker children also demonstrated high levels of perseverance.
St. Barnabas Award:
Encourager this week is awarded to Henley. Henley regularly joins in with discussions and provides great answers, which really help the other children’s with their learning.
Chloe is the ‘Reader of the Week’ for working hard on her Reading Plus.
Oak won the TTRS for being the most improved class.

Louie received the value award for persevering with his learning and taking on board the help received.

Mia was awarded our Barnabas award for encouraging others to keep calm.
Ethan was awarded ‘Reader of the Week’ for persevering with his book and reading a lot at home!
Elm had the highest percentage on Reading Plus this week.

Our Star of the Week was Brylie for always getting on and trying her best.
Value Award: Perseverance
Alfie always demonstrates high levels of perseverance and was awarded the first certificate for the new value.
St. Barnabas Award:
Georgie was awarded our encourager because she sets a great example with her learning behaviours to all the other children.
Neil is our Star Reader for really engaging with the Christmas reading challenge.
Elm also won the TTRS trophy.
Year 6 were awarded Nicholas Bear for their Epiphany church service.
