Sainsbury’s Active Kids
Sainsbury’s New Romney customers have helped to donate Active Kids equipment and experiences across the Marsh area.
Colleagues from Sainsbury’s New Romney paid a visit to St. Nicholas Primary Academy to see their new equipment they had purchased with their Active Kids vouchers.
Pupils and teachers from St. Nicholas Primary School are celebrating after receiving this year’s Active Kids equipment. On Monday 19th October, colleagues from Sainsbury’s New Romney attended a PE class to see the new equipment.
St. Nicholas Primary School was the top collecting organisation local to New Romney and had collected over 30,000 vouchers. The school had been able to purchase a bundle of equipment including rugby balls, skipping ropes, beanbags, tennis rackets, camping sets, zigzag tunnels, as well as equipment used in both junior and infant playgrounds during lunchtime.
The school has been registered to the Active Kids scheme for over 8 years and Hilary Andrews, School Business Manager at St. Nicholas Primary School said:
“Customers at Sainsbury’s New Romney have been really supportive this year and it’s great to be a top collecting organisation. The scheme has helped us teach the benefits of a healthier more active lifestyle to hundreds of children over the last few years and we’re really looking forward to using the new equipment.”
Fiona Cockerill, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s New Romney added:
“We’ve had a fantastic response at St. Nicholas Primary School, seeing the pupils with their new equipment. It’s brilliant to see the benefits of the scheme. We look forward to working with the school in the future.”
