The Day it snowed in New Romney

Today has been a terribly exciting day!

As we crunched our way through the new soft snow we were filled with anticipation for the day ahead. We were so lucky that Jeremy Strong made it into school and kept us totally enthralled for almost an hour, telling us about his books, reading some and showing us where he writes. then it was time to go and enjoy some of that untouched snow! We had great fun finding out what happens when we put power paints onto snow, showing amazing teamwork to make a snowman, and also helping Mr Leech clearing the snow. – Please just remember to send kids in fully prepared for the cold weather over the next few days!

We look forward to seeing how much snow is left tomorrow . . .

What an Entry Point!

We have finished our first week back with an amazing start to our IPC topic – ‘We are What we Eat’.

This afternoon we had some amazing parents who made and brought in their favourite dishes. The children were spoilt for choice, soup, prawns, stew, brownies, sausage rolls to name a few. – Even Mr Dale and Mrs Andrews came down to join in the fun!

The children had a fabulous afternoon and I hope the parents did too, trying new foods – even pickled onions, avocado and gherkins – well done Badgers and Otters for being so brave and enthusiastic.

Here are some photos of our exciting afternoon….

Thank you to everyone who has successfully managed to log onto Reading Plus at home.

A letter was sent home last week with details of how to log on, along with your child’s username and password. Please let me know if you are having any problems. This is a great resource, which will really help your child’s fluency and comprehension.

It is expected that your child will access Reading Plus at least twice weekly.

Red Ditty Books in Reception

Our Reception children have been working hard this term; learning to read their first Red Ditty books and write about the stories they have read.

They’ve been learning to teach and support each other with the help of their ‘stick of power’. We are really impressed with their enthusiasm and confidence that they show in the RWI sessions!

Well done for all your hard work Reception 🙂
