Year 1 Archive

In Maths this term we have been learning about measure. We have measured length, weight and capacity using lots of different equipment and standard and non standard units of measure.

In Term 4 we were very lucky to have Rugby sessions. We learnt how to throw and catch rugby balls and how to tackle and dodge.

In DT we have been making vehicles using junk modelling. Next we will add wheels to make them moving vehicles.

In Science we are learning about the seasons. We made our own rain gauges to measure how much rain falls in the winter in New Romney. We will check the rain gauges every week and keep a log of how much rain water they collect.

We had a great time at our Fun Factory session. We played some games to help us improve our throwing and catching.

We discovered a mysterious object in our garden! It looks like it might be Beegu’s spaceship but Beegu is missing! We will be creating missing posters to help us to find Beegu.

In English we have been reading BEEGU. We used our imagination to create Beegu’s planet. We used our creations to write descriptive sentences using adjectives.
