Year 6 Archive

Morgan has written a fantastic suspense story this week.  Keep up the good work!

Year 6 celebrated the end of their history topic in style!  Many of the children dressed up in a WW2 themed costume and spent the day carrying out a variety of activities linked to the topic.  These included: baking Ration Cookies, with limited ingredients;  needlework, for ‘Make Do and Mend’; planting seeds, like the Land Girls, and in the afternoon, parents were invited in to see all of the fabulous learning that has taken place.

A great time was had by all.

Year 6 visited the Three Hills for Safety in Action.  During our visit, the children learned some useful safety tips about railways, drugs, first aid and many more.

As part of our RE learning about Islam, year 6 discussed what they would remove from the world to make it a better place.  Examples included plastic and some forms of modern technology.

As part of our learning about World War 2, year 6 visited the Old School in New Romney to find out about the impact of war on our local area.  We heard stories about World War 1 and looked at artefacts.
